With the help of the Lotteries grant the headstones that were recovered from a trench at Makaraka Cemetery are gradually being reinstated.
For many families the reinstatement of their ancestral headstone is an opportunity for a get-together and celebration. The memories of their forebears are being truely honoured in this way.
